Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Geotechnical Engineering. Degree at time of application or official notification by August 1, 2022.
  • Demonstrated potential or excellence in teaching at the college level
  • Record of and/or demonstrated potential for successful research, scholarly and creative activities
  • Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least two years of effective teaching experience in undergraduate and/or graduate level courses in Geotechnical Engineering or other related fields
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Student advising
  • Research and/or professional experience in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering
  • Potential for registration as a Professional Engineer (PE)

Duties:
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Geotechnical Engineering. [Mode of instruction may include in-person, hybrid, online, and/or any combination thereof.]
  • Organize and supervise Geotechnical Engineering research laboratory facilities
  • Develop and update new and existing courses related to the area of expertise
  • Maintain and engage in research and other scholarly activities in the field of Geotechnical Engineering leading to publications
  • Provide student advising and mentoring
  • Participate in service to the department, college, university, and community
